The Fresh Tracks 6-Step Cleaning Process
Step 1: The Pre-Vacuum
Every professional carpet cleaning job should start with a thorough vacuuming of your carpet. This step is crucial because it removes dry dirt and debris, preventing them from turning into mud when moisture is introduced during the cleaning process.
Step 2: Carpet Fiber Identification
Identifying your carpet’s material will allow us to choose the most effective and safe cleaning products for the job, without damaging your carpet’s durability and longevity. The most common carpet fibers today are Polyester, Nylon, Triexta, Olefin, and Wool. Each fiber has strengths and drawbacks, which is why the best results are produced by knowing what you are working with.
Step 3: Pre-Spray
Good carpet cleaning starts with good chemistry. The pre-spray does the heavy lifting, breaking down soils and oils built up in your carpet fibers. This step is similar to letting dirty dishes soak in soapy water before scrubbing. Depending on soil level and type, an alkaline or acidic pre-spray will be used. Most soils exist on the PH scale. Naturally, they are neutralized by their equivalent counterparts.
Step 4: Agitation
Agitation is crucial to removing soils from your carpet. This step is the equivalent to scrubbing those dishes with a sponge. Agitation separates soils mechanically from the fibers while evenly distributing the pre-spray deep into your carpet fibers.
Step 5: Spotting (If Necessary)
Spotting is the use of specialized professional products to remove stubborn stains or soils when the pre-spray fails. Common stains and soils that need specialty spotting are coffee, wine, pet urine, and cooking oils. These stains and soils require specialized products and additional labor. These considerations will always be discussed before completing the cleaning.
Step 6: Extraction
The extraction phase involves rinsing your carpets with water at the correct PSI, followed by vacuuming to remove all the loose debris and soils. We overlap every cleaning stroke so your carpets get cleaned twice. We also do plenty of dry strokes to speed up the drying process so you can get back on your clean carpet. Rinse is incorporated into the water while extracting. The rinse neutralizes any pre-spray left in the carpet, helping prevent rapid re-soiling, leaving your carpets safe, soft, and ready for Fresh Tracks!
Pet Stain & Odor Treatment
Pets are part of the family, but accidents happen. We offer specialized treatments for many pet stains and odors, using professional products designed to target the source of the problem rather than just cover it up. Our goal is to leave your carpets looking cleaner and your home feeling fresher.
Small, isolated pet spots may require additional treatment depending on the severity of the stain and odor. Areas with heavy pet traffic, multiple accidents, or more severe odor issues may require extra time, specialized products, and additional treatment. Any additional charges will always be discussed and approved before work begins.
